On this long, tough par-4 the ideal drive must challenge the Machrie Burn on the left-hand side. From there, the reward is two-fold, a shorter approach and a better view of the green. Drive to the right and a blind second-shot awaits. The green sits below the level of the fairway and is relatively small in comparison to others at The Machrie. So, with little room for error, although short is better than long, accuracy is a must.
