ISLAY GOLF CLUB – APRIL UPDATE / JUNIOR GOLF OPEN DAY

Islay Golf Club teed off for the 2025 ‘Summer Season’ with the ladies and gents April Medals on the weekend of 5/6 April. It was encouraging to see 32 men taking part in the Men’s medal which was won convincingly by Jim Rozga with a score of 68. Jim has been playing and winning at the Machrie for as many years as I can remember and shows no sign of letting up with this performance.

There was a low turnout for the Ladies medal but that didn’t detract from a good performance by Susan Middleton who secured victory with an impressive 75.

We are also fortunate to have the use of the fantastic golf facilities at the Machrie Hotel and Golf Links. These were used to good effect at the Junior Open Day when 34 boys and girls attended and were introduced to golf at the Machrie. All seemed to enjoy their day, and some have already joined for the season – we hope to see more of them back on the links as members of Islay Golf Club.
