Work on the Course

Work on the adjustments to the course have started ahead of time The new tees on the 2nd hole are largely in place (including shifting the ladies tee to the right, so that new men's tees can see where they are going - the turf is being put back and you'll be playing off that immediately).  The spoil is being taken to create the new second green.

We stood on the new tee and it certainly gives you a fine view right down the burn! Big hitters will have to hit a draw or go straight along the line of the burn - humbler hackers like myself can rely on their fade (aka slice) to keep them safe.

The work has started early because the team were available - they have some track record having created Loch Lomond, Archerfield and the recent changes to the PGA course at Gleneagles, so they know what they are about.  Seeding will be done in April and we should be playing on it in the spring of 2014.  The architect assured me that we'd be able to play as normal while the work is going on, just the odd digger on your line.
